DEX (Decentralized Exchange)
Trade Native Assets
The DEX is the native decentralized exchange of the Basis platform, serving as the exclusive marketplace for buying and selling all Basis Tokens.
Core Functionality: Seamless interface for swapping between Basis Tokens and their paired assets. The buy panel supports both the pair asset of the token's main (USDG on the first main; it routes through the main) and direct purchases with the main token (STASIS). A swap between tokens of two different mains runs in one transaction and pays the base fee once; when the two mains have different pair assets, it needs a route between those assets.
Technical Architecture: Smart contracts on Robinhood Chain ensuring transparency, censorship resistance, and non-custodial trading. All Basis Tokens are ERC-20.
Liquidity Model
- Liquidity is established through direct token purchases. No external LPs needed
- There is no LP a creator can pull
- On Stable+, Utility+ and Floor+ tokens buys mint new tokens and sells burn them; a Yolo token (R100) has a fixed supply
- No impermanent loss, no liquidity bootstrapping problem
Trading Fees
Every buy, sell and bet pays a base fee, currently 0.60% (0.54% once your wallet has set a referrer). A token's creator can add a creator fee of up to 1% and, on a token launched with holder rewards, a rewards fee of up to 0.5% to 10% depending on the token's dial. The app shows the live total for each token. On a bet, the base fee flows through the split below and the creator fee goes to the market's creator; market tokens have no rewards fee. There is no winning-pot recycling and no bounty pool.
Fee Split: The base fee on a token trade splits 10% to the vault of the token's main, 10% to the operating team, 15% and 5% to the trader's two referrers, 15% to SOCIAL (which pays the authors of Alpha+ posts on that token) and 45% to the BASIS buyback (65% when the trader has no referrer). On a bet the SOCIAL share goes to the buyback instead. Creator and rewards fees are paid in full to the creator and the token's holders. See Transaction Fees for the full split.
Buy Flow
Two contract calls: 1. Approve (ERC-20 approval) 2. Buy (execute trade). Quick allocation buttons (25%, 50%, 75%, Max) available.
Leverage Trading
A leveraged buy borrows against the tokens it buys to give you up to about 37x the exposure, in one transaction and with no price liquidation; see Leverage Buying for how it works and what it costs.
