BASIS Utility Token

Summary

BASIS is the platform token. 45c to 80c of every $1 of base fee goes to the BASIS buyback. It is set aside for BASIS until BASIS trades; from then it buys BASIS on the open market. More than half of what is bought is burned, and the rest goes to BASIS stakers and to a staked team share.

Important distinction: BASIS is the platform token. STASIS is the first main token (Stable+ paired with USDG; factory tokens pair with the main they are created on). Different roles.

Key Points

  1. Fixed supply, shrinking over time: 1,000,000,000 BASIS, minted once at TGE. There is no further minting, and every burn makes the supply smaller.
  2. Launch price $0.020, a $20M valuation, set by the team rather than auctioned. The angel, seed and private rounds and three presale rounds are all priced below it.
  3. Activity-based airdrop: 11% of supply in three phases (1% testing, 1% BASIS Fun community campaign, 9% trading rewards, community incentives and competitions).
  4. Founders' 10% is staked on 365-day notice and releases only gradually once notice is given.
  5. BASIS staking rewards come from the buyback and from an 8% staking-rewards allocation. How they are paid will be published before TGE.

Where the Fees Go

Every trade and bet pays a base fee of 0.60% (0.54% with a referrer). Each $1 of base fee on a token trade splits as follows:

DestinationNo referrerOne referrerTwo levels
BASIS buyback65c50c45c
Referrers (paid in the pair asset)015c15c + 5c
SOCIAL (pay for Alpha+ authors on the token)15c15c15c
Vault of the token's main10c10c10c
Operating team10c10c10c

On a bet, the SOCIAL share goes to the buyback instead (80c with no referrer, 60c with both levels). Each $1 of loan-side fees goes 60c to the buyback, 20c to the token's creator, 10c to the vault and 10c to the operating team. The base fee is capped at 2% in the contract.

What the buyback does. Until BASIS trades, its share is set aside for BASIS. From then it buys BASIS on the open market. Of each $1 of base fee, 12.5c to 22.5c of the BASIS bought goes to BASIS stakers, 7.5c is staked for the team, and the rest is burned: 25c to 35c on a token trade, and 15c more on a bet or a loan-side fee, where the SOCIAL share is burned too. Referral money nobody claims is split half burned, half to BASIS stakers.

The creator fee and the rewards fee are charged on top of the base fee and paid in full: the creator fee to the token's creator (it can be shared across up to 10 wallets), the rewards fee to the token's holders. Payouts are made in the pair asset of the token's main (USDG on the STASIS pair).

The STASIS Vault: Separate System

The STASIS vault is a different mechanism: stake STASIS and earn a share of the fees on its pair.

  1. Stake: STASIS, one for one. There is no wrapper token.
  2. Earn: 10% of the base fee on STASIS-pair trades, and of its loan fees, buys STASIS for stakers.
  3. Claim or compound: take your rewards in STASIS, or add them to your stake.
  4. Borrow: draw USDG against your stake without unstaking. The pledged part keeps earning. You receive the pledge's value minus the loan fee.
  5. Repay to free the pledged part.

Two states: Free (can be unstaked) · Pledged in a loan (freed on repayment). A loan not repaid by its date is liquidated and the loss comes off the stake.

Two Vaults: Critical Distinction

STASIS Vault: Receives 10% of the base fee on its pair, used to buy STASIS for stakers. Loans available against the stake. Live now. One vault serves every main; stakes and rewards are kept separately for each main.

BASIS staking: After TGE. BASIS staking for other holders, and how its rewards are paid, will be published before TGE. No APY is projected here, because it depends on volume nobody can honestly forecast.
